I came into this world two months early,
and have been out of sync ever since.
I push when others pull, and play the
pauper while they perform the role of prince.
Zigging when others zag, I like to go
against the grain. And it drives me insane
I can’t roll with the punches, but am
obsessed with forging a whole new lane.
I once asked a fat woman how far along
she was, and told a tall man with no hair --
and a nasty cold -- that “yes, it must be
pretty darn chilly for you up there.”
But whether linking up with old friends,
looking for love or joking about the job,
it’s easy to embarrass yourself when
you could easily have just shut your gob.
Timing is everything when it comes to
holding conversations or fighting wars.
Sometimes doing nothing is better than
saying bad stuff and charging about like boars.
