Standing up
"Sometimes all it takes to energize a whole team is for one angry player to stand up and be counted"
When I first heard how Ontario premier Doug Ford told Donald Trump he could “kiss my ass”, I first thought, oh, no, here’s a Canadian leader descending to the gutter level of the troubled U.S. president.
But then I figured that, well, it was about time some important person in this country told Trump where to go … in a language he could understand.
It’s just like in a hockey game, sometimes all it takes to energize a whole team is for one angry player to stand up and be counted. It may be crude, but it's effective.
We’re always being told we’re a country of nice people. But I remember when we also used to have the reputation of being one with a helluva lot of backbone. It's time to show it now.
